Eating healthy at the airport??? Yes!!!! :)

IMG_0286Normally I am quite organized and I manage to bring some healthy snacks with me when I’m traveling… However, this time it was a bit of chaos, and I forgot to prepare my lunch, hihi. HELP! Everybody knows an airport is not the best place where you can eat healthy on the go…

Fortunately I knew that at Brussels airport a tasty fresh juice was waiting for me… :)

It’s name is”energetic morning” and it made my lunch! Hahaha 35cl of carrot, root beet, ginger and apple juice…. Of course that is not enough food for a proper lunch, but together with a healthy nut bar I got enough fuel to get to my next destination, home….

About to fly...

Life is like playing with a trapeze, sometimes you just have to get impulse, open your hands, let yourself go and fly until you reach the next grip! Exciting, right? It is… As well as scary when you are at a place where you cannot catch anything else to support yourself, the only thing you can do is to trust your intuition, keep your head up and get ready for the next trapeze….

Like every other week I had my appointment on Skype with my lovely peer coach Suzy (yes, coaches also have coaches, we are still human beings and need support :p). We were both facing this crazy moment where everything seemed to be happening very fast and at the same moment but yet not going as we might had expected. Then, she came with this great thought we had learned at school about the trapeze…

While you are hanging and balancing, you are still in your comfort zone (although it might already be a bit risky sometimes). You get used to the movement and you start enjoying it and feeling comfortable… However, you cannot stay there forever… On the other hand, to be able to get to the next trapeze, you need to jump and fly!

And that is where I am right now… On the air! :) Trusting that everything will be fine and that a great view is waiting for me at the next trapeze!

Thank you my angel Suzy for watching me from the distance and waiting for me at the other side, that makes things much easier for me! :)

Getting ready for a great day!

Ñam! This was my food for last Saturday! I was invited to a football tournament in Brugge where we had to bring our own food… A long and intense day was waiting for me! After my morning smoothie I start to prepare everything I need:

  • Gluten free sanwiches with my veggan patés, greens and tahin
  • Fruit
  • Home made energy bars
  • Another green smoothie
  • Water

Not very complicated, right? I made sure I had enough greens and veggie proteins to keep me going all day long… You just need a bit of organisation and think in advance what you will need for such a day… Besides that, you dont need much more that a bit of creativity to prepare your lunch/day box!

What elese do I need? Well, start playing! hahaha Could not wait to start running and kick the ball! I had to say that although I ended up very tired it was because of the lack of hard exercies lately in my life…

So, my next goal for the next month is finding a girls football team in Ghent! I want to get fitter while having fun and meeting new people! I cannot express with words how I feel when I play and I socore! (which btw happend last Saturday!). Ohhh yeahhhhh!

I didn’t even know most of the girs I was playing with, but we had great fun despite all the injuries! hahaha. Thank you very much “Angels”, hope to see you all on the pitch again very soon!

This is me, under the beatiful French sun in Val Thorens...Yes… This is me three years ago, looking into my new future in Brussels!  (crazy hair huh! :p ). Today it is my 3rd anniversary in Belgium, and to be honest that is exactly the last think I would have expected when I landed… :)

At that moment I wanted to travel the world, and although I hadn’t even arrived to my new destination (where I would stay for two years according to my job contract) I was already thinking of the next one! hahaha. Well, I did change cities after those two years, but although I never stopped pursuing my dream job, I could not really figure out how it looked like…

Last year at that time, I was simply lost. About to start “El Camino de Santiago” to clear up my mind and find out what I really wanted… Well, it didn’t happen, hahaha. Among the things I learned together with my friends Sara & Osane is that “El Camino (as well as life) doesn’t give you what you are looking for but what you need…

After all the chaos and confusion during the past two years my new career and destination called me! I know where I am right now, but I have no clue how life will look like in a couple of months! Exciting, tight? Well, it is for me! Everything can happen! I trust the Universe, I stay calm and positive although right now my future doesn’t seem to be very clear to me… hehaha.

I just remind to myself that “I am where I am supposed to be, and that’s THE place to be

Sunday without intertnet! What a nice detox! :)

No, I was not away for the weekend, and yes, I needed to feel a bit disconnected from everything! :) Did it work? OF COURSE! I loved it actually! :) Today it was harder to catch up with all the e-mails, FB, etc, but it was so much worth it that I will definitely make it part of my weekends… (and most evenings too, even if I stay at home and/or have some stuff to do on the internet).

What are the benefits I got from it?

  • I had time for the things I usually postpone: going for a walk, organising my room, cleaning up the house, sit down and relax, read, watch a movie… 
  • I did not have to think about working, I could just enjoy my self and my company! Btw, the fact that it was a sunny day helped a lot! :)
  • During my walk I re-connected with nature and myself
  • I breathed! :)

So, why not to try it too? What are those things you will start doing when doing an internet detox??

Looks nice, right? It was!!! I didn’t have much time today for lunch, but I was craving some good stuff! So, I opened the fridge, this is what I found…!

Lettuce, avocado, spinach, radish, carrots and courgette!

How could I make it shine? Well, I made a light pesto with the radish leaves, lemon, a bit of oil, tamari and water and added a few hazelnuts and other mixed seeds… Simple right? It is!!! It just took me 15min to get my meal ready!!

Still missing something? Add some herbs and spices! My favorite? Cinnamon… Mmmmmmmm

Today is the 1st day of the rest of my life! Yeahhhh! :)

Celebrating.... :)

I want to invite you all to take part of this new journey that officially starts today but actually started long time ago… TODAY IT IS THE FIRST DAY OF THE REST OF MY LIFE, like every other day you could think, hehe, but today I celebrate that I become officially independent! ;-) It doesn’t just mean that from now onwards I will have “a job” or have to pay my taxes or that I need clients (which I also do, btw, hehe), but it means that I have found my path! Yessssssssss! I am following a dream that has been taking shape during the last years and has become true in a way that I would have never expected! However I could not be happier!  And therefore I want to thank you all for having met you and be/have been somehow part of my life.

For those who don’t know what I am talking about yet, I am still Sara (or Sarita for some of you) from Rivas (Madrid), the one who left 5 years ago on exchange and never came back, ups! Well, I am also Sara (still Sarita for some of you), this “kind of crazy” Spanish girl who moved Ghent to learning Dutch and who now happens to be a “Health Coach”! … Interesting… right?

To make the story short and get where I want to go, I just wanted to “re-present” myself and tell you what I am up to now… After some years of being out of balance and quite lost I finally found my passion and my way, and therefore I would like to share some of the things that I have learned with you! As you might have noticed by now, as a Health Coach, I help people reaching their goals through small changes that would lead them to a healthier lifestyle! Amazing, right?  I think so… hihi ;-)

Anyway, besides giving workshops, cooking lessons, info sessions and working  with clients on one to one as well as in groups, I also want to share with you that I do stay healthy. In this blog I will be posting about the small things that make a big difference in my life and that can also make it in yours! From what I have for breakfast to keep the energy all day long, to the song that lifts up my mood when I am down, fast but good recipies  or how do I manage to eat healthy even when travelling or eating out! –from there the name “on the GO!” ;-)-

This might be especially interesting if you are celiac, vegetarian, vegan, flexeterian (you name it), you are having some intolerances (gluten, wheat, nuts, soy, sugar, lactose, diary in general, etc), going through some illnesses with specific diets (candidas, diabetes, IBS, etc) or you just want to create and maintain healthier habits in your life. It is about learning how to go with the flow, let go, connect with yourself, with others and with nature while living in this hectic society!

I am here for you, so share it with whomever you think might like it and participate, please! That is how we all grow!!
